Planning and Coordination

Construction Planning and Coordination.

Of all the phases of the project life-cycle, construction is normally the most difficult to plan and coordinate, mostly due to how procurement intensive the phase is. Planning ahead to deliver equipment and material on-time is the single greatest hindrance to completing a project on schedule. Failure to requisition material according to schedule impacts all stakeholders, and with enough disruptions, will eventually affect the critical path of the schedule and delay completion.

Scoping.

Another common issue is ill-defined scoping, which creates confusion for all stakeholders, often leading to unforeseen change orders that drastically increase cost. Cascade has experience in identifying scoping gaps, managing change and delivering the construction projects on-schedule. We use several earned value management tools to reliably report progress, and analyse completion by breaking labour estimates down to the task level. The key to accurate progress reporting is a realistic baseline, which is a combination of tender document information, labour estimates and scheduling. Cascade specializes in using all these tools to complete projects cost-effectively. Our expertise is primarily in the electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
